New Walking Tour: Twin Bridges

There’s lots of news to announce here at NYC Adventure Tours!

First up, we have our Twin Bridges Walking Tour, which we plan to launch in May. This tour will take walkers across two of the most iconic bridges in New York, The Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge, all in one 90-minute tour. As incredible as it may sound, you can achieve what most New Yorkers have never done – a walk across two bridges in one fell swoop. Tickets will go on sale soon, so stay tuned and check back for updates — or better yet, follow us on Twitter or Like us on Facebook and we’ll keep you in the loop. The tour should be pretty spectacular, so we hope to see you all there!

The Twin Bridges Tour also has the added benefit of being a great workout. In addition to seeing some amazing sights, you’ll get a pretty brisk walk. We at NYCAT are firm believers that walking is some of the best exercise around, which is why we’ve partnered with EveryBody Walk, a non-profit devoted to encouraging fitness in all Americans. Not everyone can do the Iron Man Triathlon, but anybody can walk for 90 minutes. Our walking tours are a great way to get a little workout while you experience this amazing city!

Speaking of fitness, on Sunday, May 5, 2013 the NYC Adventure Team will be participating in the TD Bank 5 Boro Bike Tour. Held annually the first Sunday in May, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour presented by REI is America’s largest cycling event. The Tour is co-produced by Bike New York and the New York City Department of Transportation. The event provides participants the unique and fun experience to bike through all five boroughs – a 40 mile, car-free ride for 32,000 cyclists.

And, on Sunday, May 19th, in stead of offering a tour the NYC Adventure Tours Team will be walking the 12th Annual NYPD Memorial 5k Run. Each year on the Sunday following National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day on May 15 the NYPD Running Club is honored to bring together Law Enforcement Officers and the community, to pay tribute to more than 750 NYPD Officers who have died in the line of duty. In a continued effort to honor our fallen comrades we gather for a short prayer at the NYC Police Memorial Wall in Battery Park City, followed by a 5K Run/Walk, a Children’s Fun Run, and a free barbeque for all participants.

So come join us for a walk, run, or bike ride!
